Telegram bot or Mini App: choosing a business workflow

A short inquiry fits a conversation. A catalog, calendar and request history need screens. Choose the interface around the task customers must complete.

Choose an interaction format

A bot suits a few questions, notifications, request status and handover to a person. It should not force customers through a long message sequence just to get in touch.

A Mini App is a web interface inside Telegram. It can suit a catalog, booking calendar, multi-field form or customer account. Telegram provides interface capabilities; business logic, storage and integrations still need separate design.

Start with one complete workflow

A service business example: choose a service → provide contact details and preferred time → receive a request number → assign a manager → show the status. This is an illustrative workflow, not a claimed customer result.

Define who receives the request, how long the customer waits and what happens without a response. If managers use a CRM, store the inquiry there with its source and owner. A message posted to a group chat does not by itself establish follow-up control.

Agree on data and integrations

  • Define users, roles and languages: Georgian, Russian and English.
  • Collect data needed for the workflow; document access and retention.
  • Specify where the final request lives: CRM, a database or the team’s operational tool.
  • Check CRM, calendar and payment connections against provider documentation. Allow separately for conditions and fees.
  • For a Mini App, verify authentication and permissions on the server. Do not trust data just because it came from the interface.

Test the awkward situations

Customers may tap twice, close the application before confirmation or lose connectivity. An integration may respond late. Show the outcome, prevent unwanted duplicates where needed and provide a clear retry path.

Include a route to an employee. Test unavailable slots and cancellations for bookings, contact corrections for inquiries and denied access for accounts. Integration secrets belong on the server, not in browser code.

Pre-launch checklist

  • The complete workflow runs on iOS, Android and desktop Telegram.
  • Every language includes instructions, errors and confirmations.
  • The owner can see the inquiry, and the customer understands its status.
  • Repeated actions and integration failures are handled.
  • The business has owner access, documentation and a support procedure.
